Hello friends! I wanted to share something that is very exciting for me as wife, mom, and friend! As many of you know I started a small business about 8 months ago, pursing my dream as a wardrobe stylist and blogger. Little did I know this journey would be incredibly challenging, exciting and beautiful all at the sametime. As a blogger I have been given the opportunity to review and test a lot of products. I am incredibly grateful but that comes with a lot of responsibility being able to give honest reviews to my family, friends, and online followers. I am always upfront with the companies that if I don't like the product I will not share it with my followers that I loved it when it didn't work out for me...Trust me I have a point but wanted to explain as best as possible before sharing one of my new beauty passions. I get requests from other companies to sell and make a commission by selling their products. From clothing, jewelry, weight loss to skincare I have heard it all. Some of the companies are great and others not so much. Which brings me to why I wanted to share this journey with y'all. About 10 months ago our little guy Mason, who we are adopting from foster care was struggling with genetic eczema. Honestly it was the hardest thing watching him suffer and not know how to exactly help him. I tried every lotion, oil, and cream that was recommended. Feel like we have a mini Target stash from all the products I purchased. Lol. Nothing helped and then a sweet friend recommended a gentle and natural baby oil. I was desperate and purchased the baby oil, and a few makeup products for myself. I love makeup and wanted the free shipping and lip gloss, a special they were running at the time. I had no intention of ever wanted to know more about the company just wanted relief for my son and try out the foundation and see if it delivered what was promised. Fast forward we were able to get Mason's eczema under control with a routine we now maintain and apply the baby oil after bath-time.
Which brings me to my point...Y'all the company I am talking about is Beautycounter! I became a consultant a few weeks ago and I am so excited to share the journey with y'all. No I will not blast your social media feed with beauty products, but will create a separate page soon to share my favorite things. From healthy recipes to tips on make up application and much more. As we begin our New Year it's important to treat our bodies well. Two years ago I made significant life decision after a personal health scare, and lost thirty pounds because I started taking my health seriously. I go to the gym 4-5 times a week and try to eat healthy most of the time. But I never really cared about changing my skincare and beauty routine. Partly because most of the "green" and natural skincare that I have tried, frankly was not that good. I love beauty products that work! Working for luxury cosmetic lines I have learned how to properly apply makeup and skincare but never researched how the products are made and are they safe for my skin. Until I used Beautycounter and started researching more about the company and there mission. I wanted to also be apart of the mission to change the beauty industry.
Beautycounter wants to get safer products into the hands of everyone! What a beautiful mission! Y'all as a mother having a daughter I want to educate Mila how to apply makeup but also make sure those products won't have harmful ingredients that can be damaging to her body long-term. The reality is us ladies we love to look beautiful and makeup and a skincare routine allows us to achieve that! Why not have the products we are putting on our face to be safe?! We don't need to change over night, it's about slowly changing out our eye shadows to foundations and incorporating more safer products. Y'all for me it goes down to performance! If the product doesn't work, then forget it! I don't have time to apply makeup for a long time being a busy mom always on the go. I wan't products to deliver and do as promised! And the products I have tried from Beautycounter are amazing! Some of my favorites from the makeup is there eye shadows, lipsticks and foundation. From the skincare I love the charcoal mask, everyday moisturizer and eye cream. I will do a detailed review soon, just wanted to give y'all my favorites if you wanted to shop and have a few ideas on what to look at.
I want us to go on this journey together; educating ourselves on what goes into making our beauty products. We consumers deserve to know if the ingredients in our favorite lipstick or mascara are safe. As a beauty blogger I will still review other cosmetic and skincare lines because I want to always give y'all an honest review but I will be sharing my love for Beautycounter because I am a believer! I will share my favorite products from other companies because I love beauty but if Beautycounter makes a better and safer alternative for us, why wouldn't I promote something I truly love.
As a mother of a little girl that is growing up, I want her to have access to safer beauty while not having to compromise performance. I would never promote a line that I don't use myself and it doesn't perform as promised. I dont want Mila to have to worry if the makeup she is putting on her face will effect her health; from cancer to infertility I want her to be confident and beautiful in her skin. Living a healthy lifestyle has literally changed my life. Not only the way I look but most importantly the way I feel. I know we all can make little changes in our lives that can make a big impact.
Let's start with reading what goes into making our makeup and skincare. Beautycounter has the never list, the ingredients that should never be put into our beauty products. Education is key and the more we know the better and more confident we will feel when searching for what companies to shop with. Trust me ladies I am not no science nerd that cares about how everything is made but what I do care is about my skin and my daughters skin. I want to make sure the products we are putting on our faces are safe while not having to compromise performance. I never thought I would be so passionate about a company that I wanted to be apart of the mission. As a busy working mom I don't have time promoting other companies with everything else that I have to do everyday. But this mission is too important for me and so many others that I am making the time to share with y'all my Beautycounter journey.
Lastly, I want y'all to ask any questions you might have. I would love to help and let's go on this healthy safe beauty journey together! I can help with color matching or what lip stick compliments your skin tone better. My favorite part is having a relationship with you!
