I wish I could solve this problem for us women but the truth is finding the perfect pair of jeans is hard work. As a wardrobe stylist, my passion is helping women look beautiful through personal style. I don't recommend the same outfit to every woman because we all have different body types. As a shopaholic, I have shopped almost every store on this planet so I"ve become a savvy shopper, especially with jeans. So today I will share some of my top tips and tricks how to find the perfect pair of jeans for your body frame. I will also link some of the jeans that I own and love, prices high and low.
Look for fit, not brand. Yep ladies this tip will save you time and money. The fit is everything when it comes to jeans. Finding the perfect fit for you and your frame might take some time, but once you find the jeans that are perfect for you it will be all worth it. There are a few brands that I believe make amazing jeans and have worked for most body frames so I wanted to share them with y'all. 7 for all mankind, J Brand, Paige, and NYDJ jeans are some of my favorites. The key is finding the perfect cut and fit for your frame. Another thing to keep in mind is each brand size is different. Yes it's annoying but true. For example, Gap jeans run big and Paige jeans run a little small or true to size. Also NYDJ run big too, so size down because they will stretch after wear. Focus on showing off your favorite body part, and jeans are a great way to do that. Wearing the right pair of jeans will give you confidence!
Higher waist jeans should become your best friend. Yep I love love my higher waist mom jeans. No I am not talking about your typical baggy mom jeans that make you look 10 pounds heavier. I am talking about jeans that hide your mom belly. I personally don't like low raise jeans on anybody, unless you are teenager. No one has to look at your business when you bend down. Back to my point, ladies the higher the waist, the leaner you look. I love when jeans have a little stretch in the fabric. Not too much because if they stretch out, then that's another problem. Finding the perfect higher waist jeans can be challenging, but there so many great options. Especially if you do a little research and try a few different ones. We all want to look leaner and having a few pairs of higher waist jeans is a game changer in any closet. Mama I promise, you'll thank me later!
Color and distressing, I love dark wash jeans. Some of my favorite pairs are my black jeans, they are effortless and instantly dress up any look and make it look classic/chic. You can't go wrong with your traditional blue jeans. Find a pair that can work with any outfit. Find jeans with pockets that will enhance your figure, and not make you look heavier. Go for traditional pockets, not too big or small. Target has recently stepped up there fashion game, and I have found some great jeans for an affordable price. The key is to go for basics and keep the destressing minimal and classy.
Skinny jeans are amazing, period! Anything that makes me look leaner and longer, sign me up. I love skinny jeans, they are my go to's! Skinny denim are so easy to style and go with almost any outfit. I love a darker wash because if you are heavier on the bottom it gives an illusion of a smaller waist. If you are petite I recommend going for a lighter wash, elongates our legs and gives an illusion of a slimmer middle.
As I always say knowing your body frame will save you a lot of time and stress when shopping for jeans, well shopping in general. There is something about being confident in your skin because you know what looks good on you. The amount of time we spend in our jeans, it's worth the time and money to invest in the perfect pair. Below I will have linked all my favorite pairs. I did a lot of research and read reviews, to save y'all time! Thank you so much for spending some time with me...I would love to know what are some of the topics y'all would like me to cover next?
